Cory Cannon, a kindergarten teacher for multilingual learners at Westgate Elementary School, has been named Washington state’s 2027 Teacher of the Year. She received the award at the Educator of the Year Awards ceremony at Capital High School in Olympia, where state education officials called Cannon a “beacon” for schools across the Tri-Cities region.
