Venezuela hands over 1,157 restored homes to residents

Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez announced on October 31 that 1,157 renovated homes had been handed over in the states of La Guaira and Miranda, as well as in Caracas. During a visit to the Terrazas del Aeropuerto housing complex in La Guaira, she reviewed the construction of housing for families affected by the June 24 earthquakes and the restoration of four towers containing 102 apartments. According to Rodríguez, more than 21,000 homes are being repaired for 87,000 people under the “Venezuela Rises Again” program. In addition, 1,153 new homes and 580 temporary single-family dwellings have already been built to rehouse people from camps.

The president also inspected the Sueños Azules housing complex project in Catia La Mar. Plans call for 1,000 apartments in 250 four-unit buildings. Each apartment will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and shared living areas. The project includes sports facilities, vertical gyms, playgrounds, and areas for wellness activities. Before construction began, specialists surveyed the soil and coastal area to ensure the buildings’ safety. The authorities said they intend to complete another 4,000 new homes by the end of the year.
