Venezuela Creates 244 Crews to Fix Public Utility Outages

The Venezuelan government has launched the “Renace Team” program, with 244 crews set to work across the country repairing problems in public utility infrastructure. President Delcy Rodríguez said their work would be directly linked to residents’ reports: complaints about outages submitted through the VenApp platform are to be promptly forwarded to field teams.

The crews will address problems with electricity, drinking water and household gas, and respond to weather emergencies such as heavy rains. They are being equipped with vehicles and supplies: 95 dump trucks have already been delivered, with another 200 expected in the coming weeks. Motorcycles and three-wheeled motor scooters will be used in hard-to-reach areas; teams will also receive tools and personal protective equipment.
