The US administration on Thursday issued two new general licenses related to Venezuela that permit certain transactions in the telecommunications and postal services sectors, as well as the supply of goods and services for the state airline Conviasa. In addition, a third license extends an exception protecting the Venezuela-owned refinery Citgo Petroleum. These measures, published by the US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), are part of carve-outs within the US sanctions regime.
